FAQs
The truth, and a few lies (told by others) … about religion and the occult arts.
Is working with spirits dangerous?
Anything can be dangerous, without proper training and guidance. The occult world is no different than the physical world, or for that matter… many religious practices.
Is it difficult?
In ancient magic, and still to this day… more often than not, there is a tendency to overcomplicate the ritual arts. Largely to add a sense of grandeur, and to make the practitioners feel more special. I break things down to their core essence, doing away with all the pomp and circumstance.
How is ceremonial (high) magic different from other more common practices such as witchcraft?
Witchcraft uses aspects of ceremonial magic, the core principles are similar. The difference is in high magic, you are more aware of the symbols used, often will use ancient and arcane languages (which have more power) and there is a greater level of dedication to truly call on spirits.
Do people really cast spells on other people?
Sadly, more often than one realizes. Often times the person who is casting the spell is not fully aware of the power in their words. Even simple statements such as “you will never amount to anything” even if said in jest, can have influence over our self confidence, limiting us in ways we don’t even realize. Any negative statement, said by someone who you value their opinion, can be considered as a spell!
How common, really, is “black magic”
It is far more common than one realizes, although it is usually practiced in secret. There are telltale signs, for those who have the eyes to see.
Are spirits like demons all evil?
The spiritual world is no different than the physical one, in that there’s many shades of gray… demons can be harmful, or helpful… the same as angels! In the ritual arts, it is we who are calling on and commanding these forces. As such, good and evil, in our practice, is determined by the intentions of the mage.
